Vehicle access and parking control could be administered using Tramelton Corporation’s RFID Vehicle Access Management System (VAMS). This system assigns special electronic tags to vehicles and allocates them to specific car parks. When a car with the right vehicle access tag approaches a designated car park, the pole at the security post automatically opens for the driver. The system also maintains counts of vehicles that are currently in the parking lot and when the maximum is reached, it shuts off access to the parking lot to avoid congestion. However, exists from the parking lot will still be allowed. This helps maintain the use of the parking lot especially in government establishments and secured locations.
When a vehicle without the right vehicle access approaches a parking lot, the pole will not open. If the vehicle eventually locates the right parking area, the VAMS will grant the driver access to the right parking area. This is also useful in managing parking arrangements during big events like political rally. Some vehicle access tags are valid for a day or a couple of hours. So when a visitor reaches the main gate, he is handed a tag with the parking area designation written on it. The visitor will gain access to the parking area they have been assigned to and when they are leaving, they will hand over the visitor pass to the security officer. If a visitor that has been checked in at the main gate forgets to hand in the security pass upon exiting the premises, the pole at the control post will not open until the pass has been detected by the VAMS. This helps ensure that visitor access tags are recovered before visitors exit the premises while the system also offers a second level of security.
